The Hotel
The "Forsthaus" which has existed
since 1907 has developed, within four generations in the hands
of the Grotkopp family, from an outspan inn for horses and
carriages, into an exquisite small family hotel at the outskirts
of Luebeck.
Horst
Grotkopp, the present owner who has been running the hotel
since 1963 has added a new wing of 19 double rooms to the
original house.
Its size allows guests to feel like friends
still. The family-like atmosphere makes a lovely change to
the sterility of the larger hotel chains..
Culture and Life
Luebeck the ancient town of the Hanse
and world`s cultural heritage of the UNESCO links in a unique
way the high cultural standards of this distinction with the
advantages of a modern city. Known as the gateway to the North,
it is the ideal starting point for excursions to Scandinavia,
either via Europe's largest ferry harbour Luebeck/Travemuende
or as the crow flies the famous "Vogelfluglinie".
Relaxation
You will definitely find relaxation,
as right behind the "Forsthaus" you can get away
from it all in a perfect rural ambience. Situated at the edge
of the "Nature Reserve of the Lauenburg Lakes" you
can, starting from the Forsthaus, discover this marvellous
countryside by bicycle, by ship or in your own car at your
leisure. Thanks to a quiet period of 40 years, situated at
the edge of the former border to the GDR you will experience
a flora and fauna unsurpassed which cannot be found anywhere
